Pitmasters Joel Romano and David Gill blend their native flavors and techniques with classic American BBQ.
Hailing from Australia, we, David Gill and Joel Romano, met in kindergarten and have been best friends ever since. Our paths converged toward a shared BBQ destiny. David honed his skills in the pits of NYC's Hometown BBQ, while Joel refined his culinary expertise as an executive chef in Philadelphia. Our mutual interest in restaurant entrepreneurship led us to collaborate, with David traveling weekly to learn from Joel. As we perfected our BBQ craft, the dream of Wildwoods BBQ was born. In July 2021, we opened our doors on the Jersey Shore, bringing our passion for smoked meats and flavors to life.
